Job Description
Finance Manager –£40,000-£45,000

Leading and managing 3 experienced staff, the Finance Manager will ensure that the day-to-day finance processes/operations and month-end reporting are completed in an efficient and timely manner for a specialist insurance provider. Confident Excel skills are a must, as is a solid understanding of accounting and an enthusiasm for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

* Monitor, review and report on the day-to-day finance operations of the business including daily cashbook, banking payments and receipt allocations.

* Calculation and analysis of receipts and payments.

* Prepare and review the monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow, in an accurate and timely manner.

* Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are performed to a high standard.

* Prepare year end audit packs and any additional information required by the auditors.

* Provide and implement effective staff training and development plans.

* Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service is provided by the team.

Qualifications

* Part qualified or QBE with a minimum 5 years experience in a professional and responsible finance role.

* Solid and confident understanding of finance processes and double-entry principles.

* High standard of communication skills, written and verbal.

* Fluency in MS Office and accounting systems.

* Advanced Excel modelling skills, highly comfortable with large datasets.

* VBA and SQL experience desirable though not essential.

Desirable

* Insurance or legal sector experience.

* Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills
