Job Description
FINANCE MANAGER JOB SUMMARY:

We are working exclusively with this Southampton based company, to recruit a Finance Manager to join their growing team. The key responsibilities of the Finance Manager will be to manage the day-to-day financial operations, planning and reporting functions, as well as overseeing a small team.

Our client is looking for an experienced, efficient Finance Manager, with confidence to work in a fast paced environment, in a position that supports multiple sites. You will need to be a confident, self-motivated individual who can transition into the role with little supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FINANCE MANAGER:

* Responsible for managing the day-to-day financial reporting, including the reconciliations of all nominal and intercompany accounts, and reviewing and analysing all inputs to the financial statements.

* Line management responsibilities for a small team within the wider finance department.

* Responsibility for month end and quarterly reporting, including the production of the monthly management accounts and financial statements for review.

* Ensure adequate controls over receipts, payments and invoice processing are adhered to.

* Work closely with the Senior management team in relation to budget variances and analysis.

* Monthly direct debit collection set up, processing & cancellations. Deal with any rejections on a timely basis.

* Sales, deferred revenue and payroll journals calculated and posted monthly.

* Process and control improvements, implementing changes / improvements with the support from the Head of Finance.

* Update and improve cash flow forecasting.

* Assisting with the year end and statutory audit and tax processes, including tax compliance.

* Manage adhoc projects and other associated tasks, as required.

* Assisting with the production of management information packs for the board.

KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

The successful Finance Manager will have experience in a either a management accountant / Finance Manager role, with confidence in journal entry, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts preparation etc. In addition, previous supervisory / management experience would be ideal as this role will see you overseeing the workload of a small team of up to 3 staff members. A willingness to learn and develop will see you progressing within this fast growing, ambitious organisation, and you will have the opportunity to get involved in projects to enhance your experience as well.

* Part / Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/AAT) – preferably with industry experience

* Demonstrable technical accounting ability and previous experience in a similar level position

* Strong commercial acumen as well as excellent people skills

* Exceptional communication skills and a team player who works well with people and can supervise and lead with a hands on approach.

* Energetic, organised and professional demeanour with the ability to gain a good understanding of the key business drivers

* Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors

* Strong technical abilities (Excel predominantly).

* Xero accounting software (ideal, but not essential as training will be provided)
