Finance Manager | London, W6| Flexibility to work from home some days a week |Full Time | £35,000-£42,000 based on experience

World Sailing is the world governing body for the sport of sailing, officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Finance Manager will have primary responsibility for all accounting functions, including the preparation of monthly accounts and analysis of budget variances. The Finance Manager will also be responsible for developing and maintaining finance policies and procedures and ensuring all divisions abide by the same.

The role requires an individual who is a real team player, a strong communicator, someone with excellent attention to detail and who is both comfortable with change and looks to continually improving the process.

Are you the right person for us?

Graduate, part qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA (or equivalent) with a minimum of 3-years work experience
Experience of working within a similar post within an SME environment
Excellent written and verbal English language skills

What will your role as a Finance Manager look like?

Purchase Ledger

Processing purchase invoices in multi-currencies, ensuring accurate postings to nominal ledger and allocations to Divisions and Cost Centres
Prepare and upload fortnightly payment runs, together with a short term cashflow forecast, for approval by the Finance Director and CEO
Prepare and send quarterly royalty statements
Sales Ledger

Issuing and Processing sales invoices in multi-currencies, ensuring accurate postings to nominal ledger and allocations to Divisions and Cost Centres
Ensure invoices are paid in line with terms by sending reminders and contacting customers when required
Reconciling customer accounts on a regular basis and identifying discrepancies and resolving issues
Management Accounts

Prepare monthly management accounts, including month-end journals
Variance analysis of actual vs budget
Assist Finance Director with cashflow and profit & loss forecasts
Other duties

Filing VAT returns
Dispatch plaques/IHT stickers and maintain inventory records in liaison with the Technical team
Take a lead on information requests from auditors.
Work with divisional teams for coding of invoices and providing divisional actual vs Budget variance reports; assist teams to encourage active management of their budgets.
Producing ad-hoc reports as required by the Finance Director.
