Job Description
Finance Business Partner – Option for hybrid working, with a start date in January 2023
Following an internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified accountant to join our fast-growing business, working at the Nimbus site in Dolgellau, at least 3 days per week.
Our Company
Meadow Foods started life as a family-owned dairy trading firm selling dairy ingredients in the UK and Europe. Through organic growth and strategic acquisitions, it has grown to a >£500m turnover ingredients business, with four sites across the UK and just under 500 employees.
Meadow Foods was invested in by the private equity firm Exponent in 2018 and is on an ambitious journey to shift from a ‘dairy’ business to a market leading ingredients business.
The company has ambitious growth plans for the next few years and part of those growth plans included the acquisition of Nimbus in October 2019. Nimbus is a c.£15m turnover business manufacturing inclusions for confectionery, ice cream and bakery products, used by the world’s best-known brands.
The Role – Finance Business Partner
Reporting to the Meadow Foods Commercial Finance Manager and supporting the Commercial Director and Operations Director of Nimbus, as Finance Business Partner you will be responsible for all elements of finance for the Dolgellau site, from month end routines to supporting the budget and forecast processes. Your responsibilities will include;
* Supporting the Commercial Director and Site Director with up to date and timely financial information and reports, whilst adhering to the central accounts timetable
* Supporting the Commercial Director and Operations Director with the monthly Performance Review presentation to the Group CEO
* Assisting in the production of annual financial budget forecasts
* Supporting the year end audit for Nimbus and performing in-house audits where necessary
* Responsibility for month end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
* Releasing bi-monthly updated forecast for the current working month and to financial year end
* Reviewing and auditing of capital expenditure justifications
* Providing and analysing KPI information
* Ensuring that there are appropriate procedures for financial reporting, record keeping and documentation
* Taking responsibility for factory cost controls, capital project accounting and product standard costing
* Analytically reviewing and investigating sales, margin, wastage, or other cost trends

* Salary in the region of £45,000 to £50,000 with level dependent on experience

Our Requirements – Finance Business Partner
* Qualified accountant with some post qualification experience in industry
* Ability to comfortably represent finances for the site
* Advanced IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel
* Self-motivated individual with a positive attitude
* Excellent communication skills
