Job Description
Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Specialists are working with an award-winning transportation business looking to bring in CIMA (Qualified or Part-Qualified) professionals as Finance Business Partners to strengthen links between the FP&A Team and business directorates.

The Opportunity

To build budgets and forecasts for designated directorates considering future business performance, ensuring consistency with the future strategy of the business. To provide accurate, timely and relevant financial information on which to base business decisions, with a focus on business-oriented management reporting. To strengthen links between the FP&A team and business directorates. To address the needs of the DfT and other key stakeholders by liaising as required on all financial matters related to responsible directorates.

Location – City of London

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for managing period and year end results for responsible directorates, producing management analysis to required deadlines, highlighting material variances and trends, their underlying causes and impact on annual business plan delivery and recommendations on strategic action plans.
Solely responsible for modelling, influencing, challenging, justifying, and reporting against budgets and quarterly forecasts.
Responsible for financial analysis of business cases under responsible directorates; integral part of the business case process and project monitoring.
Gain detailed knowledge of relevant business activities and endogenous/exogenous drivers to continually develop clear, concise, and relevant financial and management reporting.
Contribute to modelling, influencing, challenging, justifying, and creating the annual business plans and quarterly forecasts.
Build good working relationships with directors, managers and staff and provide them with the management information based on insight and enquiry.
Identification of risks and opportunities, understanding the market served by my client, making recommendations to maximise return from budget envelope and mitigate key risks.
Manage and provide support to managers and directors to ensure budgets are realistic and projects are delivered as planned.
Recognised and sought out by the business as a primary and trusted source of insight for decision-making.
Act as a business change agent proactively identifying and implementing process improvements within the team and across the business.
Maintain and enhance the company’s reputation with external stakeholders by the timely provision of data and analytic expertise as appropriate, remaining at the same time sensitive to considerations of commercial sensitivity
 Essential Criteria

CIMA Qualified or working towards
Experience with budgeting and finance
Experience of working in industry in an analytical or commercial finance role
Strong Excel Skills
