Job Description
Role: Finance Assistant
Reporting to: Financial Controller

Are you available at short notice to join a busy finance deparrtment and help on a 12 month FTC with a view to going permanent?

This is a great role and a stepping stone for the right person into a permanent role with a business where you can work to be a Management Accountant.
 
Initially this is a Finance Assistant role and the need is there due to the volume of work at the moment.
They ideally need to have someone who wants to know they want to do finance as a career and has the basics. The rest is teachable!

The work will be focused on balance sheet reviews, reporting on VAT, helping with queries from the FP&A team and internal and external audits. You are not too involved in the month end but the Financial Controller is open to you being involved in the Financial Planning & Analysis side and is happy for you to get the exposure for the year.

They would like you to have good Excel skills  (VLOOKUPs, Searches, Tables, Pivots)
They are more about working smart and not hard!
The Team is experienced and happy to help. They share everything and like to sit together when in the office.
This is a hyrbid role with no more than 3 days in the office. 

Full list of duties:

– Month end Reporting
– Accruals & Prepayments
– Posting of monthly journals
– Balance Sheet Reconciliations
– Ensuring that audit standards are maintained
– Resolving queries
– Assisting with Cash flow reporting
– Reviewing monthly VAT reporting
– Helping Management accounting team with queries 

About your Experience:

– Good Excel skills
– Finance background: basic level
– Fast learner / keen to learn
– Takes initiative
– AAT qualified would be great but not essential
