Job Description
Finance Assistant
Full time permanent (Hours of Work: 40 hours per week – 8 am to 4.30 pm (30 mins lunch)
£20,000-£30,000
Birmingham (South East)
To support the Financial Accountant & Finance Director in all aspects of day-to-day accounting & reporting.
The applicant will need to share the intense workload and be prepared to switch and assist in whichever area demands attention, a good general knowledge of accounting and strong organisational skills
Duties will include assisting with:
Sales Ledger – Processing invoices, allocating payments, sending monthly statements via email, debt collection, dealing with customer queries, general filing of orders, delivery notes & transport documentation.
Purchase Ledger – Processing purchase invoices, allocating payments, sending remittances, dealing with supplier queries, general filing of suppliers invoices & statements.
Cashbooks & Bank Reconciliations – Updating & maintaining spreadsheets for UK & foreign currency accounts, general filing of bank statements & copies of payments.
Month End Procedures – Updating spreadsheets & closing periods for purchase and sales ledger.
Sage Payroll – Processing weekly & monthly wages, RTI submissions, PAYE payments & pension assessments. (training available)
VAT Returns – Collating data for quarterly submissions, uploading to HMRC.
Year End Accounts – Collating & entering information on spreadsheets, entering journal entries
