Data Protection Advisor Job in Gloucester

Job Description
We are a dynamic forward thinking, innovative and growing group. Having undertaken 62 acquisitions in the last 6 years, with more in the pipeline, our data protection responsibilities and workstreams are substantial. Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that working together as one team across the Group is better for our customers, our businesses, and our employees. We believe that data protection compliance is an enabler for our businesses and projects, not a business prevention role.

Due to the Group’s significant growth, we are now looking for an additional Data Protection Advisor. The role will report into the Data Security Manager, who will help the successful candidate develop new skills and an understanding of the inner workings of data protection and data security.

In this role you will be responsible for assisting the integration, general management, and project oversight for all businesses across PIB Group in relation to compliance with Group policy and data protection legislation such as the Data Protection Act 2018, the UK and EU GDPR, and all other relevant legislation, regulation, and guidance.

Responsibilities:

To advocate the values and principles of our Group policies and procedures
To bolster the second line of defence within Data Security to support members of staff, regulators, and any relevant public bodies on issues related to the security of personal data
To co-manage the Learning Security Platform, generating phishing emulations and learning experiences for targeted colleagues, as well as creating regular reporting for the Executive.
To oversee the regular review of Payment Card Industry (PCI) and GDPR compliance for customer journeys and interactions with Group.
To support the logging and processing of potential data protection breaches, data subject requests and data security incidents
To help maintain, revise, and implement policies and procedures to enable the Group to demonstrate compliance with its data protection requirements
To be a resource and advisor for Champions around the Group
To assist in the monitoring of mandatory and regular training plans and provide data protection advice and support for members of staff
Promote a culture of data protection compliance and security across all parts of the Group

Experience:

This role would suit someone who is familiar with face-to-face customer interaction
This role would suit someone who is looking to take their first step into a new role
This role would suit someone interested in hybrid working and enjoy independent responsibilities and projects, whilst still working as part of a team
You will need to have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
You need to have a positive can-do attitude, be confident and have an eagerness to learn
You will need to be competent in all Microsoft packages, especially Teams, Excel & Outlook
