Fabulous opening for a 'CIMA' or 'ACCA' Qualified Commercial Financial Controller to lead process improvements across reporting, Forecasting and Processing functions. Leading a team the Retail Financial Controller will support and challenge performance across Retail through driving store profitability and minimising costs.This is a great opportunity for someone who is ambitious to support the Head of Commercial Finance.
You will be a Commerically focused qualified Accountant with 5 years PQE within a relevant sector (retail, hospitality, property) and a strong leader, capable of getting the best out of their team to enhance performance and inspire those around them. Confident and credible the Financial Controller will have worked in mutli-site environments, have advanced Excel and be comfortable being 'hands on' as well as liasing with board level stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
* Support and challenge the Retail Leadership and Finance Leadership teams to address core issues and improve working relationships with key stakeholders
* Introduce a consistent and challenging performance review process with Regional Managers to review the monthly store P&Ls, and with central budget holders to review the monthly overheads
* Act as the Commercial Finance leader when it comes to ensuring we understand, and are working on helping minimise the costs across store labour, shrinkage, damages and other store costs
* Understand the key metrics the business uses, with a specific focus on Retail, and review whether they are still appropriate and fit for purpose
* Ensure we have consistency across the reporting and performance review processes with the Retail Leadership Team
* Review the current annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes and, where appropriate, plan and implement improvements
* Review and challenge the requirements across all facets of the function
* Coaching and challenging 2 Finance Business Partners, Retail Manager and Finance Analyst to work closely with Finance and Retail colleagues to address core issues
* Develop individuals to maximise their potential and ensure they have clear, specific and management objectives
