Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

My client is a well-established manufacturer of injection moulding products used in Safety industry and is well respected in the PPE marketplace, and a UK Manufacturer.
They are looking for a hands-on and forward-looking Chief Financial Officer to oversee the company's financial and risk management functions. Work alongside other members of the Board and Management Team to determine an overall direction for the Company.
This role provides the Board with an accurate picture of actual and forecasted trading performance of the business which identifies the upsides and downsides at any point in time. Reviews detailed financial reports & KPIs, makes recommendations and drives positive change, ensuring the appropriate financial controls are in place.
Responsibilities:
* Leads the planning, forecasting, and reporting for all elements of the income, balance sheet and cash flow statements
* To prepare the Company annual Budget and 3-year plan for approval by the Board
* Delivering monthly management accounts and annual corporate statements accurately and on time
* Maintain a rolling 3-month P&L & Cash Flow forecast to anticipate issues and to identify opportunities
* Highlighting potential deviations from plan and possible remedial action and driving change where necessary
* To actively manage the company’s balance sheet to minimise working capital and to maximise cashflow, including debtor minimisation/collection
* Be part of the Executive Leadership Team and Company Board team to deliver the overall financial and strategic plans & goals of the company
* Driving accuracy, rigour and transparency in our commercial and operational analysis and reporting including:
* Establishing KPI’s against which business performance can be measured, and monitoring weekly / monthly KPI’s including making commentary in the accounts which identifies successes and failures
* Partnering with Sales, develop and maintain robust sales pipeline tool
* In-depth costing / contribution analysis (including NPD)
* Partnering with Sales, RFQ analysis and preparation for major contracts
* Make recommendations to the Board / Management Team concerning actions to be taken to improve business performance (e.g. price increases/cost reductions etc)
* Fully analyse contribution by product so that more informed decisions can be taken concerning product pricing.
* Prepare Capex cases for review by the Board clearly identifying payback and how payback will be achieved.
* Conduct reviews of past Capex cases to establish whether paybacks were achieved
* Maintain a risk register identifying the key risks facing the business and recommended mitigating actions to be taken
* Ensure the company carries out sufficient due diligence when entering into new agreements with customers or suppliers
* Responsibility for the determination and implementation of a forex strategy
* Reviewing potential acquisitions
* Leads the design and be responsible for the delivery of the (annual and longer term) objectives and performance of the Finance functional team
* Deliver annual and long-term organisational plans for Finance
Skills & Experience required:
* FCCA qualified, University Degree, MBA preferred but not required
* Significant experience in a manufacturing based industrial and/or consumer durables branded business
* Experience with premium B2C and/or B2B brands a plus
* Ability to manage and motivate a team
* Computer literacy with experience in implementing / fine-tuning ERP upgrades a plus, as is D365 experience
