Job Description
My client is a small broking house based in London, seeking to bolster the London team with a Catastrophe Risk Analyst at the junior level. You will be embedded in the broking team and will be immediately involved in clients meetings, presentations and putting together client proposals. You will be supporting North American Treaty, Binders, EMEA and Retro business. Responsibilities will include:

* Providing strong technical and strategic CAT risk management and modelling support

* Providing deep understanding of results, assumptions and limitations of vendor and non-vendor models

* Prepare, manage and process raw property (re)insurance data for catastrophe risk analysis

* Establish strong relationships with colleagues

* Communicate analytical ideas with multiple audiences

* General administrative duties for the Broking and Analytic teams as required

* Support Analytics team as required

* Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders (internal, external)

Academically you should have a good degree in a mathematical, statistical, geophysical or meteorological related subject. Personality wise you should be commercially minded, have good communication skills, be a team player and be ambitious with the desire and ability to develop good relationship management skills. Programming experience would be highly desirable, with some basic knowledge of SQL, Excel, Access, VBA and GIS highly recommended, with an understanding of the principles of insurance and reinsurance. The client operates a hybrid working pattern with a good work/life balance
