Job Description
Assistant Finance Controller sought by a world leading manufacturer of automotive components to join their team based in Sunderland, reporting to the Finance Manager.
The Role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you your key duties will include:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Finance Team (in the absence of the Finance Manager), ensuring that appropriate financial and management information is available
Positively contribute to establishing initiatives and cost-saving ideas
Produce month-end journals, reconciliations and reports as required
Ensure all plant recharges are agreed and transacted within the relevant month
Manage the intercompany process, ensuring no out of balances
Manage the fixed asset process
Scrap and Inventory reporting
Launch Cost reporting
Complete statistical returns
Assist with annual stock count and year-end audit
Assist with profit planning and forecasting process as required
Daily reporting of all key financial data to the plant management, BU and Operations Groups
Approve orders and invoices as required
Assist with supplier issues as requested
Ensure that legal regulations in Accounting & Finance are adhered to (including Sarbannes Oxley legislation)
Carry out quarterly SOX audits and submit monthly SOX documentation
Ensure adherence to B.O.S. and other corporate system
The successful Assistant Finance Controller will demonstrate:
Fully CIMA / ACCA qualified
Experience in a similar accounting role within manufacturing. Automotive industry experience desirable
SAP experience desirable but not essential
Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large volumes of data in a multi-agency environment
Ability to present to a large group of people
Ability to communicate and cooperate with people of different levels inside and outside the Company, and to achieve goals and business objectives
Ability to recognise and respond to customer expectations with a sense of agency
Ability to work to strict deadlines and use own initiative is essential
