Manpower are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client based in Milton Keynes for an Assistant Controls Accountant to join their team.

The hourly rate is £14.81 per hour and you will be expected to work a 35 hour week.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This role takes responsibility for the production and follow up of a number of key control reconciliations to support the portoflio, as well as the development of process improvements to systems and the investigation of balances and reconciling items.

A large part of the role will be cross functional working with other departments therefore Stakeholder management at all levels and across different locations is a key requirement.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

To complete all relevant Balance Sheet reconciliations in a timely manner, providing summarized information for management. These include Contract Management system and SAP FI accounts across our clients product range
To complete Balance Sheet Reconciliations Team to ensure a robust control environment is maintained with issues being resolved in a timely manner while nurturing a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
Carry out key month end tasks.. Perform month end analysis and reporting in accordance with the month end timetable.
Be a Subject Matter Expert on various products and recognised as a product/department specialist for key systems ie Contract Management System/SAP FI
Understand the interaction and impact of subsidiary systems on the main accounting systems to ensure system integrity, particularly in relation to specific Balance Sheet and Profit & loss accounts, highlighting issues as necessary
To assist with any operational or accounting projects as required collaborating with colleagues in IT to ensure clarity of issues/requirements for all change relating to accounting transactions is assessed
Carry out analysis to deliver key operational/management information to differing audiences
Be a primary contact for Internal/External Auditors with the ability to provide background information and explain variances where necessary
Understand the impact of operational changes to procedures and core business systems
Maintain a detailed knowledge of source data, and the structure and use of financial information from core systems which feeds into the financial statements
Support colleagues within the Accounting Controls Team as required
Perform/Support UAT where appropriate to ensure that key controls are included within testing to deliver a robust solution
To support the ASFM, FC and senior finance management with initiatives, projects, audit requirements, ad- hoc reports / analysis, investigation & presentations as required.
To continue to develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the processes and financial postings of the products and the dependencies attached to the creation of such postings.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

AAT qualified, part qualified Accountant or similar
Preferably a minimum of 1 -3 years experience in an accounting environment – preferably in Financial Services. Graduate would be considered if degree specific and with required skills set.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to clearly define and investigate complex business process issues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with both Finance and non-Finance staff at all levels
Experience of managing relationships with multiple stakeholders
Working knowledge of SAP FI/CMS preferable
Excellent knowledge of Excel and Office applications (minimum Intermediate level in Excel)
Good self-organisation with a proven methodical and disciplined approach to work
Self-motivated and a strong team player
Ability to work flexibly under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines
Ability to reactive effectively to resolve problems
