Cubed Talent are excited to be supporting our client to recruit for an Assistant Accountant, working within the heavy engineering sector, based in Sutton in Ashfield.
They are leading supplier of engineering solutions, specialising in the bespoke design and construction of metal fabrications and the turnkey supply of physical water, energy, and environmental management installations.  
As the Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for the following.
Month End ledger closing routines
Nominal analysis for accounts preparation and journal entries
Assistance in preparing timely monthly management accounts in the board pack, and any other reporting requirements
Regular review of spending against budgets
VAT reconciliations and VAT return submissions
Bank reconciliations / Payments
PAYE/NI & CIS reconciliations
Pension Contribution submissions
National Statistics Reporting
Balance sheet reconciliations
Fleet reviews
Fixed asset reviews
General assistance to Finance Manager and any ad hoc duties that are requiredFinancial

Identify any areas of the Project that could have been improved and by what means to promote use of best practices across the business.
Be aware of the financial objectives of all Projects in their control to ensure they are able to influence the final results of completion to agreed timescales, expecting quality and maximum profitability. This will include overtime control and excellent resource management.
Encourage positive behavioural change in attitudes to issues that relate to business expenditure.
Develop and maintain good internal and external customer relationships.
Attend management meetings as requested to discuss relevant information to benefit both teams and the project.Working Hours: Mon – Thursday 8.00-4.30 & Friday 8.00 -15.30
