Job Description
Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently working in partnership with a busy and growing business in the Barnsley area who are looking to strengthen their team with the appointment of a competent, knowledgeable and committed Assistant Accountant to provide extensive support across transactional finance right through to assisting with both financial and management accounts duties.

This is a perfect opportunity for someone working through their AAT qualification, or currently studying towards CIMA/ACCA who is looking to broaden their knowledge further in a role that will provide cover and development opportunities in all aspects of the finance function.

Duties of the Assistant Accountant will include (but are not limited to):

* Posting month end journals and reports
* Completion of balance sheet reconciliations and reporting after month end
* Fixed asset register maintenance
* Assistance with statutory accounts completion
* Tax packs analysis and tax packs completion
* Assistance with audit queries
* General assistance with month-end processes and management accounts
* Any other ad hoc tasks in line with assisting Management Accountants / UK Chief
Accountant

Person specification:

* GCSEs Grade A-C Maths & English
* A-levels or equivalent
* Degree Level or equivalent
* Accounting experience preferred
* Able to demonstrate team building skills and being a team player
* Good verbal and written communicator at all levels and in varying situations
* General ledger experience essential
* Strong attention to detail
* Strong organisational skills
* Strong Team Player
