Job Description
Accounts/Office Manager

Job Type: Permanent
Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-4.45pm
Salary: £30-35,000 (Experience Dependent)
Location: Carlisle

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Finance/Office Manager on behalf of a well-known, local group of companies at their head office in Carlisle.

The role:
You will be responsible for supervising the day to day running of head office, maintaining and reporting on the company’s finances, ensuring compliance with governance and supporting the Head of Operations & Finance as required. This is a hands-on position that requires a sound working knowledge of financial accounting, compliance, reporting and systems to ensure the smooth running of this business support unit.

General Duties:

* Supervision of the day to day duties of the head office support team to ensure smooth operation of financial support functions

* Ensuring that the head office team provide the business support as required by the various trading units

* Ability to complete weekly and monthly payroll process as/when required

* Providing cover/support to direct reports to ensure financial reporting deadlines are met

* Preparing and submitting regular financial reports and operational statements

* Maintaining & further developing effective financial controls

* Completion of regulatory returns to various bodies on a timely basis

* Reviewing and recommending efficiency savings as identified

* Overseeing usual admin tasks

* Producing regular and ad hoc reports as required

* Providing support to the Head of Operations & Finance

* Contributing to ad hoc projects as required

Skills, Knowledge and Behaviour
• AAT qualified or qualified by experience

* Ability to organise workload, balance competing pressures and meet deadlines

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization

* A keen eye for detail and a flexible attitude to get the job done

* Able to motivate and manage a small team of support staff

* Computer literate (Pegasus Opera, MS Office)

* Understanding and commitment to providing the best customer experience

* Willingness to work hands on with the team to provide support to all areas of the business

* Confident & professional telephone manner

* Solution focused
