Job Description
Walters People have partnered with a leading, global, hospitality business based in central London who are looking for and experienced Accounts Payable Clerk on a permanent basis. You will report directly into the Accounts Payable Manager and play a pivotal role in the team.
Key Responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Clerk:
* Process invoices daily (circa 500 per month)
* Manual posting of invoices and payment schedules into the general ledger account where appropriate, ensuring invoices are correctly authorised
* Ensure all other payments outside of the standard payment runs e.g. emergency payments are appropriately authorised and recorded in the system
* Preparation of the Cheque/BACS payment run on twice monthly basis for all group companies
* Responsibility for specific suppliers in the AP ledger ensuring, no duplicate or inactive suppliers are included in the ledger and supplier reconciliations are performed
* Understand and resolve old outstanding balances
* Provide advice and support to the business and suppliers to resolve issues or to provide training as appropriate and in a timely manner
* Identify areas for improvement in existing processes and controls
About you as the Accounts Payable Clerk:
* 1-4 years' experience in a similar role
* Managing an ever-changing work load and prioritising time effectively
* Customer service experience – phone and email
* Building and maintaining strong relationships both internally and with external organisations
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Extensive experience of Excel and manipulation of data
* Proficient skills in Microsoft Office
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
* Strong numeracy skills
