The Company
Able Bridge Recruitment are thrilled to be working with one of our longest standing clients in the recruitment of a finance professional for their office based in Edinburgh. The role will sit within a team of 4 accounting professionals and will report into the head of finance.
Currently the team are working 2 days a week in the office and 3 days from home, however for the first few months, we are expecting the successful applicant to be based in the office 4 days per week for induction and general training.
The opportunity has arisen due to the current employee relocating away from the area. This has promoted the team to review processes and individual responsibilities.
The Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to support the finance team predominantly with the input of invoices onto the purchase ledger system. Our client has a high volume of invoices which are submitted by 3rd party contractors, all of which need to be processed onto Xero. There are also multiple spreadsheets that need to be updated as well as processing of employee expenses.
On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;
Process high volumes of invoices onto Xero.
Support the finance team in ensuring employee expenses/contractor expenses are accurately processed.
Review a specific 3rd party supplier`s invoices (also high volumes), ensuring that the PO numbers match the quoted value.
Update numerous and complex Excel spreadsheets which are used for reporting and forecasting purposes.
Support the finance team with adhoc requirements when needed.
The Requirements
We are seeking a pro-active and experienced accounts assistant/purchase ledger clerk who can join the business at short notice. We are seeking a self-starter and someone who has exceptional attention to detail and who has practical experience of using Xero accounting software. A good working level of knowledge around Excel is vital as there are several highly complicated and large spreadsheets that are used. As such you will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to link spreadsheets, use and create look-up formulae as well understanding how the spreadsheets are all linked and the technical rationale.
