Job Description
My client are a long established multi-faceted engineering/ construction business has an exciting opportunity for Accounts Assistant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·Supporting the Finance Manager with the day-to-day finance activities required to support the business.

·Credit control, working with the projects, transport, storage and distribution teams to ensure sales invoices are paid to terms by contacting customers via telephone and email.

·Raising and issuing sales invoices from completed sales orders in Xero.

·Routinely issuing customer statements and standard chasing letters where appropriate.

·Escalate legal action when agreed and providing relevant documentation to the acting solicitors.

·Uploading purchase invoices and matching with purchase orders in Xero.

·Chase down outstanding sales invoice and purchase invoice queries.

·Compile supplier BACS payments for approval and uploading ad hoc payments, including currency transactions.

·Processing weekly employee expense claims.

·Monitor the accounts shared email inbox, ensuring great communication with external and internal stakeholders.

·Maintaining customer and supplier contact records in Xero, ensuring regular reviews of customer credit limits and payment terms.

·Perform ad-hoc jobs as and when requested.

You:

·Have strong credit control experience

·Have experience working as part of accounts teams

·Have experience with Xero accounting software

·Are proactive self-motivated

·Are confident in your communication skills.

·Are confident with numbers.

·Are open to change and continuous development

·Are reliable.

·Have good IT skills including Excel.

Role does have the option to go permanent after a 3month period
