Job Description
Elevation Accountancy & Finance are really excited to be working in partnership with an innovative organisation based in Barnsley as they look to appoint an Accounts Assistant into their team; initially on a 9-12 month fixed term contract with the potential to be extended or go permanent thereafter.

This is a rare opportunity for someone with roughly 2 years' experience working within accountancy and finance to join a small team and provide extensive support across a range of duties across financial accounting, reporting and control activities

Working within an evolving finance team, reporting to a new Finance Manager duties of the Accounts Assistant will include:

* Assist with monthly and year end reporting for the business
* Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Prepare monthly analysis of certain sections of the P&L
* Assist with preparation and analysis of weekly Group cash flow forecasting based on submissions from regional business units
* Processing of daily cash receipts and sales invoices
* Processing weekly and ad-hoc payments in the banking system
* Contribute to ad-hoc projects as necessary
* Develop relationships with key stakeholders across the business
* Positively contributes to creating a continuous improvement culture in the team

Person specification:

* At least 2 years' experience within a varied accounting role
* Educated to GCSE level including Maths & English
* Studying towards AAT qualification or AAT qualified
* Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, advanced formulae use)
* Works collaboratively to break down barriers and exceed customer expectations
* Passionate – positively contributes to the overall success of the business and team
