Job Description
Title: Payroll Officer
Location: Bracknell, Berkshire
Hours; 37.5 a week
Hybrid: this role can be remote, or office based – travel to the office required for team meetings
Package includes 10% annual bonus, pension, healthcare and 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
Our well-known and respected client based in Bracknell are looking for a Payroll Officer to join their HR team on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week) on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be a proactive, motivated individual with prior experience in an HR or payroll team. You will be responsible for supporting the administration of Payroll activities with the objective of accurate and timely employee payments in line with Payroll process guidelines, quality standards and timelines.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Payroll administration for 270 UK based employees
Administer payroll activities with accuracy, adhering to UK HMRC Rules and Regulations and deadlines
Preparation and submission of PAYE forms
Reporting and reconciliation in collaboration with the Finance Teams
Calculating various components of salary such as over time
Administer processing of Long-Term Investments through payroll as instructed
Responsible for checking and rectification of errors
Auditing
Understanding and maintaining payroll records to ensure that the correct payments to pensions schemes and deductions as appropriate, ensuring that the company remain FSA compliant
Monthly reconciliation of actual payments made to Pensions Department
Maintaining monthly records and timely reporting of charity fund, pension contributions, share plans etc.
Gathering and maintaining data and information
Entering Payroll data and information into ADP payroll system and supporting preparation of Payroll checks
Raising purchase orders for HR Team
Vendor creation in purchase order systems for new businesses
Same day payment processing monthly to the vendor post payroll submission
Processing invoices and ensuring that recharges are made to the appropriate service lines
Liaising with Finance, vendors and suppliers to resolve any queries relating to cross-charging and payment of invoices
Check employees' contracts once prepared by HRBP
Efficiently managing employment records in accordance with local legislation and data protection
Issuing monthly reports to Finance of all starters and leavers
Administrative responsibility for Starters and leavers
New starter reference checks and Criminal checks
Responsible for maintaining fuel card and company car reportingWhat we are looking for:
2+ years' experience within an HR or Payroll team, ideally within a customer orientated commercial environment
Sound knowledge of working with spreadsheets and data manipulation
Ability to organise and interrogate data effectively and to use techniques/tools to store data efficiently
Good working knowledge of employment legislation and best practice
Understanding of data protection
Understanding the role HR service delivery plays and its interactions with other HR functions
Ability to manage workflow across different channels (telephone/email, etc.)
Ability to work autonomously
