Job Description
The Role
The role in Payroll will be responsible for the various payroll control activities and will also gain invaluable experience of supporting the system development work following the recent implementation of a new payroll system. We are looking for someone who likes a challenge, has experience of large payroll systems and is a confident and efficient Controller. You would need to be very organised and diligent, with previous experience of working in a payroll department and must understand the importance of confidentiality and compliance. You will also need good working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel and be educated to GCSE level in English and Maths.
Requirements
1 year experience of working in payroll
Experience of computerised and manual Payroll/HR systems
Experience calculating statutory payments
Experience of administrating pension schemes (LGPS knowledge desirable)
Strong customer service skills
Administrative experience
Flexible, team-orientated approach
Good organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
High level of numeracy and literacy
Good IT skills and experience of Microsoft Office programs (mainly Excel)
Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
