Job Description
Job Title: Mortgage Administrator

Location: Cardiff. In the office full time during the first couple of weeks. 3 days in the office per week thereafter.

Salary: On Application

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 9am-5.30pm

Our client is a rapidly growing Specialist Mortgage Lender who are expanding their Wholesale Department, within Second Change Mortgages! Due to this expansion, they are looking for a Mortgage Administrator to join their Referrals team.

As a Mortgage Administrator, you will provide expertise encompassing product and lending criteria knowledge, with the ability to explain and guide brokers/internal colleagues through cases currently failing standard criteria and build a business case for completing the application, where there is both a demonstrable positive customer outcome and sound commercial reasoning to do so.

Responsibilities for the role of Mortgage Administrator

Manage and nurture relationships with all Business Partners through regular and effective communication
To assess and recommend applications outside of standard criteria through internal underwriting or credit committee
Identify and recommend opportunities within lending criteria to increase origination levels within regulatory requirements
Return structured MI to the Head of Referrals with regards to broker referrals
Identify training requirements for Business Partners and deliver operational feedback to the Operations Director – 2nd mortgages, Sales Director – 2nd mortgages and Business Development Managers, so they can find effective solutions in order to optimise performance and understanding of the business' second mortgage lending requirements, ensuring customers receive the most appropriate outcomes
Provide additional resource to the Wholesale department as and when business volumes dictate
May involve travel to and from Brokers on occasions, including overnight stays
Adhere to Company Policy incorporating: Broker Complaints, Data Protection Principles, IT Security Procedures and Health and Safety Policy.Experience required for the role of Mortgage Administrator

Experience of working in the mortgage sector with a Broker, Lender or Conveyancer.
Ability to calculate income using payslips.
Experience/knowledge of Land Registry would be highly beneficial.
