Management Accountant – Permanent Role – Based Stonehouse, Gloucestershire
Our client, a global Oil & Gas business, is currently looking to hire a Management Accountant for a permanent role to be based at their offices in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire.
This is a permanent opportunity with a negotiable salary depending upon experience.
Role Overview:
As Management Accountant within the Europe finance team, you will ensure efficient and timely processing of general accounting activities for company ledger(s). This is a varied position where you will be responsible for working primarily within accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and management accounting/reporting. Your practical accounting experience along with excellent excel skills will be key to this role as you will be providing crucial support and reports to our management team. You will be responsible for following the Company’s accounting processes and methods to tight deadlines and your existing knowledge of accounting and understanding of ERP systems will also be key. You should be keen to take on fresh challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledge and experience through on the job training.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ledger controller for specific ledger(s)
TB preparation and review, commentary on result and monthly filing for company head office.
Review, analyse and some posting of general ledger entries.
Balance sheet accounts reconciliation / justification review and ageing analysis.
Compiling and reviewing SOX control documentation.
Liaising with shared service centre and other overseas colleagues to ensure compliance with procedures, policies and controls.
Participate in the preparation of month end, management and vat reports (including absence cover).
Collate audit paperwork for external auditors.
Assist the finance department and senior accounting staff members with various tasks, records, filing and statements.
Complete year-end analysis accounting and tax summaries.
Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times
Ensure compliance with all company financial and legal policies are applied at all times.
Ensure safe working practices are applied at all times, keeping company staff safe in a safe environment.Qualifications / Experience:
Finalist or newly qualified Accountant (ICAS/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent.
Working knowledge within a finance position
Computer literacy (including excellent command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
ERP Systems knowledge
