Job Description
Management Accountant

Birmingham

9 month fixed term – Up to of £40k per annum equivalent.

40 hours a week (office based all week) Flexible on start and finish times

Job Purpose

The main purpose of the position is aid the accuracy and timeliness of reporting within the finance department and to provide key staff with information to enable them to make effective decisions about the business.

Key Tasks

Month end reporting and achievement of deadlines
Provide profit and loss and comparatives to forecast and budget
Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis
Ensure balance sheet accounts are reflecting the correct amount of asset or liability of the company
Ensure Cognos reporting requirements are met accurately and on a timely basis, including intercompany reconciliation
Perform and reconcile transactions involving foreign currency
Perform VAT reconciliation and ensure any statutory regulations are met
Perform intrastats and ensure statutory regulations are met
Ensure Government statistical returns are accurate and on-time
Provide management with a provision status each month end
Assist in Budget preparation
Involvement in the company stocktake and perpetual inventory audits
Communicate and liaise with Ops team managers about departmental performance and forecast information
Assist in the preparation and communication on inter-company recharges
Adhoc duties as and when required
