Management Accountant

Salary:        Up to £42,000 plus benefits, DOE

We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team. You will be part of a leading international FMCG organisation manufacturing cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. We are offering a Competitive salary along with a generous benefits package including 25 days holiday plus Bank holidays.

As the Management Accountant you will:

provide daily, weekly and monthly insight into our factory performance on labour and overheads and proactively encourage a continuous improvement culture throughout our factory

challenge, support and coach key stakeholders to ensure that financial concepts to non-financial colleagues are understood, explaining when necessary the financial benefits and impact.

you will track performance and communicate your findings to relevant colleagues.

manage the temporary labour process of our key supplier though analysing data on a daily basis and you will provide insights into the total actual labour costs by day and the comparison to labour recovery to give daily labour efficiency. In addition you will check invoices to ensure that we only pay for what resource has been used.  You will work closely with our providers to settle any disputes that may occur

review direct labour on a weekly basis. Working actively to reduce off-line duties and ensure the lowest possible cost and best possible utilisation of our direct labour resource

work closely with our continuous improvement teams and with our capital projects manager to evaluate project saving and track benefits through our P&L

take responsibility for month end duties relating to our factory costs, forecasting and budgeting

provide NPI project support for evaluation of cost performance and project cost for our factory. 

To be successful in the role as a Management Accountant:

Ideally you will be studying towards or completed CIMA or ACCA qualification this will be coupled with your strong numerical capability and a sound understanding of basic accounting principles. Ideally you will have experience of working in a similar role within a manufacturing / FMCG environment. You will have demonstrable experience of providing operations and finance business partnership in factories. 

Specific technical skills 

Good eye for detail and accuracy whilst also possessing an ability to see and influence the bigger picture

Commercial acumen, the ability to understand and apply accounting standards

Experience of working with MfgPro or a similar ERP system is desirable

A true business partner with the ability to influence and partner individuals outside of the finance team

The ability and willingness to provide true insights as well as factual data.
