For the periods of time when the Universities staff work abroad, they require input from a number of specialist teams across the University.
This is a new role which will project manage and coordinate the input from these specialist teams to deal with assessing these cases, gaining agreement on how to deal with them, regularising their arrangements, develop and continually improve a cohesive policy and clear guidance for all aspects of international mobility as well as manage all associated risks across the University.
Main Responsibilities
The post holder will:
Be the initial point of contact for Schools and Professional Services staff for international mobility matters, in particular overseas employment taxes and permanent establishment issues.
Review and provide input into historic and new international mobility cases; provide innovative options for managing the overseas employment tax and legal risks for agreement; and project manage the delivery of the agreed solutions.
Lead working groups of staff across the University to administer specialist input from Tax, Payroll, HR, Pensions and Insurance teams to ensure progress on projects is maintained, solutions are delivered for international mobility and staff are fully supported when working overseas.
Build and maintain an internal and external network of professional services to deliver solutions on the tax, social security and payroll implications for all new international mobility cases.
Develop, communicate and publicise policies and procedures on international mobility for the University and develop and disseminate guidance to Schools and Professional Services staff. Train relevant staff on international working / global mobility issues and policies
Attend relevant groups, boards and committees to disseminate understanding of the financial, administrative and personal implications for the University and staff considering working overseas.
Provide advice, guidance and technical support relating to international payroll matters to the HR and Payroll and Pensions teams
