Job Description
Financial Controller

Full time, permanent

Horsham, 100% office based

£40,000 to £50,000 DOE and qualifications

I am partnering with a reputable business based in Horsham who have an excellent reputation within their sector. They are in need of an experienced Financial Controller to join them, on a full-time permanent basis, bringing strong people management experience, in addition to preparing the monthly and yearly accounts.

You will oversee the finance department, making sure the accounting records are up to date and they comply with the accounting standards and legislation. Joining the Senior management team of this business, you will contribute to the financial strategy of the business, playing a pivotal role in the developments of all procedures.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparation of budget and financial forecasts
Preparing monthly statements and other regular financial reports
Management of the Finance department, including training and development
Liaising and working with external auditors
Responsibility for financial risk management
Report to the Finance Director with timely and accurate financial statements and information
Assist the Finance Director in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members
Ensure reporting complies with professional and legal standards including statutory law and financial regulations
Coordinating the preparation of budget and financial forecasting and reporting any variances
Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
Oversee month and year end closure
Responsibility and control of the VAT processing both domestic and overseas, and reporting to HMRC and other Vat bodies for the Group
Assist the Finance Director with legal reporting
