Job Description
Credit Control Assistant:

The duties range from assessing the risks before even becoming a customer, to dealing with unpaid invoices when they occur. Effective credit control management plays an integral part in the day-to-day stability of our business.

This role is a hybrid working opportunity, with 4 days from home and 1 day office based per week.

The Role:

* Chase and recover outstanding debt

* Maintain the sales ledger ensuring accuracy of financial information

* Ownership and management of defined ledgers/customers to support the Credit Controller to manage the sales ledger and the relationships with our customers’ finance departments:

– monitoring payments

– agreeing payment plans

– suspending centres

– removing suspensions when payment received

* Provide support to the Finance team with other finance-related duties

* Deliver exceptional customer service to all customers, both internal and external customers

* Assist and work towards the overall debt reduction ensuring the ledger remains in line with the KPi’s

* Provide cover for timely and accurate posting of customer payments to the sales ledger

* Maintain a record of contacts made and resulting actions using the Customer Relationship Management System

* Deal with finance queries from internal and external customers – via email and telephone

* Reconcile bank statements including unallocated cash, including payments on account

* Carry out credit checks on centres as requested

* Assist with month end financial reporting procedures

* Use of banking software to collate information

* Maintain the Finance filing system and undertake year end archiving and disposal in line with document destruction process

Essential Skills:

* Strong Excel Skills and good overall IT Skills

* Good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels

* Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately

* Ability to work in a fast moving environment, providing accurate and timely information to a high standard

* Develop and maintain working relationships, including external parties (eg bank, auditors)

* Enthusiastic and ‘can do’ attitude
