Job Description
THE ROLE:
The JM Longbridge Group are working with a leading with insurance group, now looking to hire an Assistant Underwriter on a 12 M maternity cover.
This varied role will assist in the day-to-day running of their Accident & Health account, supporting the class underwriter with all underwriting duties, compliance, and binder management, premium, exposure and performance reporting, along with building and maintaining internal, external/client and third-party relationships.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Underwriting
*Monitor and review rate movements for key accounts
*Monitor and review individual risk loss ratio and performance for key accounts
*Monitor and report on aggregate exposures across the whole book
*Work towards underwriting authority for binder referrals on key accounts
*Monitor and file medical underwriting reports and record specific medical exclusions applied to risks
*Organise and co-ordinate regular policy wording and IPID reviews
Binder Management
*Manage and review written and paid premium profiling
*Liaising with conduct risk team to ensure regulatory reporting is being met
*Liaising with complaints team to feedback complaints trends to class underwriters
*Manage and review estimated premium incomes across the account
*
*Build, develop and grow relationships with key cover holders
General Duties
*Oversee accuracy of A&H data entry undertaken by underwriting assistants and the central operations team
*Develop and co-ordinate a process manual for A&H oversight and administration
*Build and develop internal relationships with Actuarial, Claims, Compliance, and underwriting support teams
*Develop and build external relationships with key clients, brokers, third party administrators and assistance providers
*Attend internal and external client meetings and co-ordinate and follow up individuals actions
*Work on ad hoc research projects and data gathering for new business
*Be an active
REQUIREMENTS
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Essential
*Insurance experience
*Experience working in delegated underwriting team
Desirable
*Experience with working in retail consumer business
*Experience in the London Insurance Market
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
*3 A level's or equivalent
*High level of Excel skills
Desirable
*Professional Qualification – ACA/ACII
