Salary – £23,000 -26,000 dependent on experience

Job Description
An exciting opportunity for an ACCA (or similar) part qualified, Level 4 AAT qualified Assistant Accountant with demonstrable experience in our busy Watford practice.
Candidates should have previous experiences of at least 2 years working in a UK accounting firm, ideally a smaller firm where a wide range of skills were needed.
Your duties will include:
* Bookkeeping for sole traders and limited company clients
* Payroll – running payroll, processing P45's, completing year end processes – P35s and P60s and P11ds
* Preparation of CIS returns for contractors
* Producing sole trader accounts and Self-Assessment Tax Returns
* Ensuring VAT compliance for small businesses
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns
* You will be working full-time from our Watford office & you will be required to travel between our two offices in Watford and Barnet and to clients on an ad hoc basis
* You will have a client facing role
* Your role will be varied, including ad-hoc assignments, and you will play a major part in helping us continue our rapid rate of growth
THE CANDIDATE
You must have experience of working in an accountancy practice, please only apply if you have worked within a practice environment.
* We are looking for candidates qualified by AAT or part qualified accountants with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
* You need to have an excellent understanding of accounting standards, VAT, and personal tax.
