Job role
Barber McLelland is working in partnership with Harris+Co, a highly successful and dynamic Chartered Accountancy Practice based in South Yorkshire. Due to the high level of success that the firm has achieved in recent years along with future succession planning, the firm is now looking to appoint an ambitious qualified accountant for the position of Accounts Senior, who will have the opportunity and support to develop both personally and professionally.
Duties and responsibilities
The role of Accounts Senior will support a diverse portfolio of clients with specific responsibility for:
* Preparation of Statutory accounts for a highly varied portfolio
* Preparation of Management Accounts
* Review of VAT returns
* Preparation of clients annual budgets
* Point of contact for managing client queries
* Managing deadlines – Ensuring VAT Returns and company year end jobs are filed each month by the required deadlines, along with checking of report summaries to Companies House and HMRC online each month to the deadlines for the department
* Attendance at key client meetings
* Delegating, supervising and reviewing work of team members
* Provide support and advice to clients regarding accounting software tools – Sage, Xero etc.
Skills, qualities and values
To be considered for this position, you must have excellent interpersonal skills, strong general accounting experience, be ACCA / ACA qualified and currently work, or have very recently worked, within a firm of accountants within a general accounting environment. applications are also strongly encouraged for individuals at post qualified level that are looking for a managerial position.
