Job Description
Accounts Payable Team Leader – £31,000 –  Retford – Hybrid Working 

Cherry Professional are working with an exciting business based in Retford who are looking to employee a Accounts Payable Team Leader. This role will act as the Lead for a team of initially 1 Accounts Payable Administrator and will be responsible for the development of team member’s career development and promoting a positive working culture. The Accounts Payable Lead will initially report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will participate in operational service delivery reviews on a regular basis.

The role and responsibilities: 

Processing invoice, credit notes and payment accurately and within timelines
Support the business in the supplier invoice query process and ensuring queries are resolved in a timely manner
Ownership for invoice query resolution, liaising with site supply chain, engineering and other site functions to resolve in a timely manner.
Interacting with external suppliers as required.
Support the business in establishment of best in class P2P processes
Manage invoice approvals with the business
Completion of supplier reconciliations
Supporting the Commercial Power Settlements team with invoice payment activity  
Understand systems and procedures and need for process controls e.g. segregation of duties, use of unique identifiers to avoid duplicate payments etc.
Ensuring timely operational KPI's are established and met
Support the finance and accounting team in other activities such as journals and financial month end close process
Analyse root cause for lapses in timeliness and accuracy in the regular processing and reporting activities and take necessary corrective and preventive action
Supporting the wider P2P process end to end, including working closely with the site Supply Chain team
Participate in strategic continuous improvement initiatives in the organization, (financial, process or talent)
Support the finance function with other tasks, such as month end journals, creation of invoices, cash application, bank reconciliations.
Communicate and co-ordinate closely with the Finance Function and other heads of departments / functions.
Planning development opportunities and career goals of team members with the goal of developing and retaining employees
Instil a culture of continuous improvement and regular problem solving within the team
Actively promote/implement mentoring within the P2P team
Maintain and monitor service delivery performance of the function tracking against an agreed set of KPI

Skills and Experience: 

Broad and deep P2P process delivery experience, understand how a robust efficient & effective end to end P2P process operates coupled with having managed a P2P / Accounts Payable Team
SAP experience is desirable 
Very strong working knowledge of MS excel
Strong strategic agility, critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to communicate and write effective and concise business correspondence and presentations
Self-starter, prioritisation and time management
Resources and team management, active listening, adaptability
Interpersonal; Decisive, yet collaborative and inclusive
