A Tax career opportunity is available within an established, yet modern accountancy firm within a short commute of Loughborough, Melton, Leicester and Nottingham, offering a real career opportunity, which can be shaped around the chosen applicants ability and ambition, but which can start at anywhere from Tax Senior to Tax Senior Manager and potentially progress to Tax Partner.

The firm are keen to hire into a tax focused role, but this can be anywhere from a capable Semi-Senior through to an experienced Senior Manager / Partner Designate grade. It's all about getting the right person in longer term. The job role is predominantly personal tax, but it's a mixed tax role, all aspects of tax will be covered, but exactly what the job will include is going to depend on the person, skills and training needs. The firm can either hire someone with existing tax experience, or someone who may have a general accounts and tax background, but a real appetite for developing in tax. By the same token, someone with strong experience, keen to move into a leading tax role in a very professional, friendly and highly regarding chartered accountancy firm could be an ideal option too.

The firm can support someone doing tax qualifications (CTA / ATT) and are prepared to hire the role part time or full time.

The firm would prefer someone mostly in the office, they are open to some work from home, but in a role where you will be liaising with colleagues on tax queries, perhaps supporting the training of junior staff and dealing with ad hoc queries, it will be useful to spend a good proportion of your time in the firm's office.

OVERVIEW:

The role will be engaged in the control of the tax compliance function for a number of corporate and personal clients. As a general practice, this will entail dealing with and advising on almost every aspect of tax to a varied client base.
The role will require a good knowledge across all the main taxes as it will involve giving advice to both team members and to clients as well as being able to deal with all the statutory compliance requirements in dealing with personal and corporate taxation.
Develop a good understanding of the firm's clients to provide a pro-active service in a timely fashion.
To undertake the review and preparation of Self-Assessment Tax Returns (including Personal, Partnership and a small number of simple Trusts) and supervise junior staff in relation to this.
To be responsible for managing the control of the Tax compliance function including the tax returns, P11D's, CT61, ATED, ERs and TRS.
Managing a portfolio of Personal Tax clients, including all aspects of the client relationship management, including fee management.
To undertake the review and/or preparation of P11D's, CT61's, ATED, ERS and TRS reporting.
Monitoring and meeting deadlines in relation to all tax compliance work.
Assisting and advising colleagues and clients with ad-hoc technical queries, including undertaking basic and complex tax research.
Undertaking and assisting with year-end tax planning reviews and collaborate with client managers/partner to conduct tax planning work.
Undertaking Corporate Tax Computation Reviews and assisting the team with the preparation of the computations and returns.
To supervise/train junior members of staff as required.This role will be suited to either someone who wishes to progress their current technical skills or qualifications as training will be provided and we will support someone wishing to pass relevant professional exams (although they will not be obliged to sit exams in the future).
