Job Description
Our client is seeking a manager of Senior Compliance person to join their team on a 3 month temp basis, with the view to go perm for the right candidate. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (“CRO”), the overall purpose of the role comprises the following, in conjunction with the Senior Manager of Compliance –
Assisting the CRO in discharge of the Compliance and MLRO functions for the branch.
Support in preparation of reporting to, and liaison with, Head Office
Undertaking compliance monitoring and maintenance of relevant log records in respect of monitoring and in fulfilment of the required records of prevailing policies (egg personal share dealing)
Support of client on boarding
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITY
Keep up to date with applicable legal and regulatory requirements of the branch, including the requirements of the HO regulator, as well as the UK regulators.
Assist CRO to implement Compliance Monitoring Program and keep audit trail of checks performed, exceptions identified, and track their resolution
Assist in preparation of reports to HO, Committees and Regulators
Maintain compliance records, including version control of policy revision
Maintain logs/registers (e.g. personal dealing) in support of branch policy
Maintain client KYC/Due Diligence files
Perform AML/Sanction checks
Assist CRO in communication with Internal Audit and outsourced law firm services
Other activities as directed by the CRO
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Knowledge about governmental and financial regulations and laws (incl. JMLSG guidance, FCA rules, etc.)
Able to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
Have strong attention to detail
Approximately 3-5 years banking experience with at least two spent in a Compliance, or similar, role
