Job Description
Multinational Manufacturing Group based in Portsmouth, Hampshire has an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, driven Project Accountant to provide commercial and financial information to a key contracts within the division.

What the role will involve: 

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, the key responsibilities of the Project Accountant will include: 

Working with non-finance managers to produce annual budgets;
Providing financial analysis on annual costs including variance analysis and monthly reforecasting;
Full cycle project accounting support for new initiatives from proposed development, through to implementation and final sign off; assisting with the ongoing development of the strategic plan; Providing financial support for business case proposals;
Responsibility for mentoring and developing junior analysts within the team. 
The successful candidate: 

Applicants for the Project Accountant position will ideally hold a full accountancy qualification and a proven track record of working successfully within either a Financial Analyst, Project Accountant or Finance Business Partner position; 
Exceptional communication skills are essential as is the ability to effectively challenge and develop existing processes;
Previous experience of SAP would be highly beneficial.
