Payroll & Management Accounts Senior

Outskirts of Bedford

Permanent 

£24,000 – £32,000 DOE

Our client is based in the outskirts of Bedford and is an established accountancy firm. The practice has with a wealth of experience in a diverse industry and accountancy practice, backed up by a reputable office team and the latest financal analysis software.

The in house team of experts provide statutory accounting, audit and tax compliance services, which relieve their clients of the pressures of keeping on top of their finances.Their aim is to be an integral part of their partnering companies so they are always adapting in order to provide whatever financial services they may require.

Our client is interested in hiring a senior to join their team full time, due to the steady growth of the business. The ideal candidate will need to be a confident communicator with experience and knowledge over a wide area.

In your role you will report directly to the partners, and would need to demonstrate the ability to work both independently, as part of a team in a busy office environment, be able to multitask and prioritze work .

Responsibilities and Duties

Managing a busy payroll department: including running more complex payrolls; reviewing work from junior staff; dealing with complex queries.
Checking and correcting tax codes
Dealing with correspondence from HMRC for PAYE and VAT
Preparation and submission of CIS Returns.
Preparation and submission of VAT Returns using various accounting software
Preparation of management accounts for various companies.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum 3 Years’ experience.
AAT qualification ideal but not necessary if have additional practical experience
Ideally experience using Sage Line 50, Sage Payroll, QuickBooks online and Xero
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ideally a background knowledge of MS Excel and word
