Introduction

Our client is an established, award winning and customer focussed specialist mortgage lender and owing to a Maternity Cover need (circa. 9 months) are recruiting for a Mortgage Operations Team Leader to join their lending team. Reporting to the Head of Lending , the purpose of the role is to lead the mortgage processing and completions teams.

Responsibilities of the Mortgage Operations Team Leader

* To lead the processing team, providing support and guidance as loan applications are reviewed, packaged and prepared for underwriting.

* To lead the completions team, providing support and guidance as offers are produced, and team members engage with brokers and solicitors working the case through to completion.

* To make sure all cases are processed within agreed timescales and all tracking and follow ups (e.g. employment references, solicitor on-boarding, offer acceptances, solicitor responses) are within the agreed SLAs whilst ensuring good customer outcomes for our customers

* To develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the sales team, case manager team, and underwriter team, ensuring the handover of cases from sales to processing, and from processing to case managers is smooth & timely, providing feedback and seeking and implementing improvements wherever possible

* To develop and maintain excellent working relationships with brokers, working with them to ensure the completions process is as smooth & timely as possible

* To develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the underwriters – seeking feedback, acting on it and implementing improvements

* Improve knowledge, skills and develop your team by completing on-going training and development

* To identify and implement process improvements to ensure excellent service is delivered in line with agreed SLAs; utilising call listening, email monitoring and customer feedback to assist with identifying required improvements and as a tool to measure customer service satisfaction

Skills & Experiences required for the Mortgage Operations Team Leader

* Experience of processing residential or B2L mortgages, or knowledge of the process

* Experience of leading a team

* Attention to detail, working to deadlines and using own initiative

* Team Player

* Calm and focussed under pressure, a good communicator

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to join a customer focussed specialist lender and be a ‘bigger cog in a smaller wheel’. The role is expected to last circa. 9 months and they operate a hybrid model of working patterns, on a long term basis expectations are 3 days in the office, 2 from home
