Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer – Moorgate, London – Up to £40k + Benefits

Excellent opportunity has arisen for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join an established building services consultants near Moorgate, London.

We are currently working with an established MEP design consultancy who operate at every stage of the building lifecycle – design, commissioning and aftercare. A true cradle-to-grave consultancy.

Their services include energy and carbon consultancy, mechanical & electrical design, engineering surveys and advisory services, BIM modelling and building physics, commissioning management, commissioning validation and troubleshooting.

Due to their continued increase in workload we are looking for a Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Central London.

Responsibilities include:

• Electrical services design including but not limited to LV design including cable sizing, Lighting and lighting controls, Emergency lighting, Fire alarms, Security systems,   

Lightning

• Preparation and development of concept, feasibility and detailed design proposals, which include specifications, drawings, calculations.

• Ability to use Dialux lighting and Amtech electrical software.

• Fully proficient in AutoCAD 2D with either some knowledge of the use of Revit or the desire to learn.

• MS Office skills, particularly Word and Excel.

• Good communication skills required and be able to accompany colleagues to meetings with clients, other professional design team members and contractors.

• Strong technical expertise within electrical building services design, gained working within the UK building services industry for either a consultancy or contractor.

• Knowledge of UK design legislation and guidance.

Knowledge & Experience required:

• 3 – 4 years' Electrical services design experience.

• Dialux and Amtech software knowledge.

• HNC/HND level in building services or electrical engineering or degree equivalent.

• Full UK driver’s licence.

• High standard of written and verbal English.

• Able to handle several ongoing projects at various stage.
