About the Company
The company is known locally for growing, processing, and distributing fresh produce sold to well-known retailers throughout the UK. They have their own transport business and are family-owned; they are looking to recruit a Financial Controller due to impending retirement.
About the Role
The role of the Financial Controller is to manage the finance department and report to the Board of Directors. There is a team of five, and part of the role is to continue supporting their development. Overseeing the Financial, P & L, Audits, cash flow and Balance Sheets. If you have had experience with costing models, this would be ideal. Working with budgets, vat and payroll. Experience with dealing in Euros/foreign exchange would be great, as would knowledge of IT and HR. This is a genuinely varied role-based five days onsite.
About your skills
Ideally, someone who has managed a small team has good verbal and written communication, able to negotiate and influence. The board are looking for someone who can manage the department effectively and are not afraid to manage up. This role could progress into an FD role over time for the right person.
* Qualified to Degree level
* Professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
* Experienced in working with retail clients would be good but not essential
* Due to the location, a driving licence would be essential
