There are both permanent and contractual positions available.  

  Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is the production of project cost estimates in line with the clients standards and procedures.

Job Dimensions

The clients global project portfolio of small and medium projects accumulating up to €100 million annual capex. Select projects ranging from €50 million to in excess of €300 million.

The role has multiple stakeholders, internal and external customers, as it is interfacing directly with the client. Consequently the ability, and availability to travel to and work in several locations is required.

Organisational & Job Context

This role forms part of Group Projects, Project Support team, which provides direct project support to efficiently and effectively manage the delivery of project expenditure.

The Project Cost Estimator will be assigned to either one major or a number of smaller projects. The Project Cost Estimator will ensure that the cost estimates fully reflect the scope of the project and in accordance with the clients policies and procedures.

The Project Cost Estimator will normally work remotely from line management and is expected to be able to operate with autonomy whilst providing services to several customers.

Cost Estimating

Accountable for the development of  probabilistically modelled project cost estimates
Production of counter estimates to enable validation of vendor offers and claims
Supporting the development of Capital Expenditure Proposals (CEPs)
Estimate the impact of any project change requests
Estimates compliant with the clients policies and  procedures
Capital Expenditure Proposals developed in accordance with the clients policies and  proceduresGroup Assurance

Carry out peer reviews of cost estimates produced by others
Review sheet summarising the peer reviewGood Practice Development

The role will ensure knowledge is retained and transferred and undertake lessons learnt reviews to promote continuous improvement
Support the creation and update of project policies and procedures using lesson learnt and previous good practices
Education & Qualifications Required

Experience Needed

Desirable: 

Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject or discipline
Professional cost estimating qualification e.g. AACE or equivalentEssetnial 

Min. 5 years experience in project cost estimatingSpecific know-how and skills required:

Essetnial: 

Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings of varying complexity
Ability to co-ordinate disparate information into a coherent estimate
Advanced Microsoft application skills specifically Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint
Sound understanding of industry standard estimating processes and principalsDesirable: 

Probabilistic modelling knowledge
Experienced user of Primavera, PRA, @Risk and Microsoft Project
SAP knowledge
Conversant in business English Behavioural Competenices
