As our Credit Manager, you will…
Focus on controlling managing and mitigating risk within certain key areas of the Bibby Leasing Business and applying the Bibby Leasing Credit and Risk Policy.
The role will include the underwriting of new business proposals in line with personal mandates and recommendations to higher authorities which will include the evaluation of the customer’s financial status.
Additional focus is given to support, control and implementation of regulatory obligations including anti-money laundering sanctions and other financial crime matters.
This role will support the Compliance Manager in AML and all other existing and additionally created policies in line with FCA or other regulatory body guidelines and/or BFS standards.
Your responsibilities as our Credit Manager will include:
Ensuring that credit risk is controlled and underwriting is performed in line with Bibby Leasing’s Credit and Risk Policy
Verifying information given in new business applications from both customers and introducers and evaluating internal and external information to assess the degree of Risk
Evaluating financial statements to generate meaningful ratios, interpret collateral curve analysis and understand market, sector and portfolio considerations
Preparing Risk reports that include the degree of risk involved with clear, concise rationale and effective, clear communication of decisions both written and verbal for internal and external customers
Maintaining sound working knowledge of AML and KYC policies, controls and procedures, helping to ensure all staff are aware of their obligations
Maintaining sound knowledge of FCA policies (and other Regulatory bodies) via thorough research and building strong external relationships, helping to ensure that the business is aware of emerging legislation that may impact the business as well as future growth plans
Supporting the preparation of compliance reports for internal and external purposes (FCA, BFS Risk, Audit and BLL Senior Management)
Driving best practice and championing the development and improvement of existing operating processes
Helping to provide training and support in respect of compliance areas
What we are looking for in our ideal Credit Manager:
Proven experience in the Financial Services sector ideally with Asset Finance knowledge focussing on Risk & Compliance
Working knowledge of current FCA Policies
A strong problem solver with the ability to look at complex tasks, breakdown root issues and provide clear solutions
The ability to influence at a senior level
A full driving licence
Attention to detail
Financial statement analysis skills
The ability to build relationships at all levels
Coaching/mentoring skills
