Commerical Claims Handler

A great opportunity for a Commercial Claims Handler to join a reputable, established broker with over fifty years experience in a niche field.

This role would suit an individual looking to start a great career in insurance as the position offers full training and offers the successful individual the opportunity to gain qualifications within the sector to become a fully qualified Commercial Claims Handler.

Working within a team of approximately 15 in the broking department, dealing with Motor Fleet, Property, Liability, Travel and Personal Accident Claims.

Responsibilities include:

(Full training will be given to carry out these duties)

Taking full responsibility for claims allocated and manage the claims process from cradle to grave. This includes contesting claims which have been repudiated and providing broking arguments.
Communication – ensuring that there are clear lines of communication between claims and broking.The passing on of all relevant information to the relevant people. Liaison with Account Executives and Management team to ensure delivery of service standards as agreed.

Developing and maintaining relationships with our key suppliers – being Insurers and Loss Adjusters.
Keeping abreast with legislative and regulatory changes and analysing the impact from a claims perspective and keeping up to date on case law.

Key Skills/Experience Required:

In order to be considered for this position you must possess the following:

Previous experience in an administrative role. Ideally but this is not essential.
An interest in moving into claims
IT literate with working knowledge of Word and Excel
Excellent interpersonal skills – both over the telephone and face to face
The ability to learn new skills quickly
Able to work well as part of a team
Willing to study industry qualifications
5 GCSE's (or equivalent) including English & Maths at grade A-C.
