Job Description
Associate Director, Reading Berkshire – £65,000 to £80,000 + great package

Our client, a modern and growing firm of Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisors based in Reading, Berkshire are seeking an exceptional candidate for a critical hire for this newly created role.

As the Associate Director, you will be an ambitious and self-motivated high achiever with a demonstrable track record of forging change within a Practice environment, whilst working with the latest Technologies.  The role offers the real prospect of career progression to equity partner.

The Firm

The firm based in Reading, Berkshire, are Chartered Accountants and Chartered Tax Advisers and a Practice licenced to carry out Probate and Estate Administration work. This is a forward-thinking firm that takes great pride in training, valuing, and rewarding their staff.

The Role

You will play a key role is shaping the future of the business, along with the other key stakeholders – and will help to achieve a 5-year strategy of growth which, in part, will be driven through referral, recommendations, networking, acquisition and adopting tech efficiencies along with a great team and low staff turnover.

You will take responsibility for a review of current workflow systems and processes with a view to making recommendations for change to the Board for improvement. 

Assume responsibility for strategic IT for the Practice including software systems implementation.

Take charge of all outsourced services and deliver these as a recognised profit centre (Bookkeeping, Payroll and outsourced management accounts and statutory accounts production).

Managing and motivating the Outsourcing team.

You should have a strong background in technical competence and it would be hugely advantageous if you have extensive audit experience and be prepared to be the Firm’s lead technical expert. 

You will also manage your own portfolio of prestige clients, building relationships with these clients and ensuring client satisfaction via the provision of valued and trusted advisory services. 

Be a positive ambassador for the Practice, actively promoting the Practice wherever possible and looking for opportunities to upsell services to existing clients.

About You

You will ideally have a minimum of 5 or more years of Post Qualifying experience gained working in a Practice environment in a senior managerial role

Qualified ACA, ACCA, ICAS or equivalent and an Audit qualification from either the ICAEW or ACCA would be a distinct advantage

You will possess excellent technical knowledge of all accountancy areas especially current Financial Reporting Standards to respond to all internal staff technical queries.

You will have an excellent IT knowledge with a particular interest in this area as ideally you will use your expertise to assist in implementing IT systems internally within the Practice and for clients.

The annual salary banding as set as a guideline is £65,000 to £80,000.

Based Reading, the role is commutable from Farnham, Ascot, Bracknell, Wokingham, Henley on Thames, Reading, Camberley, Newbury and Basingstoke
