A successful wholesaler and manufacturer based in Letchworth are looking for a Finance Administrator to join their finance team.

Role Specification

The Finance Administrator reports to the Head of Finance and is primarily responsible for credit control and maintaining accurate sales ledger records through timely posting of invoices and receipts. Additional responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date lease car records and working with the Assistant Accountant to support audit and month-end activities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Credit control

Perform credit checks for new customers

Respond to client queries

Maintain accounts receivable files and records

Perform daily postings for customer receipts

Work with Sales, Warehouse and Procurement Teams to investigate and resolve any irregularities or enquiries

Issue approved Credit Notes and prepare KPIs to track the number raised and encourage appropriate follow-up actions

Perform dunning in line with Dunning Policy via email and phone

Run weekly Aged Debtor reports and track actions on debtor account balances

Reducing debtors’ ‘Days Sales Outstanding'

Maintain the billing system including up-to-date customer contact details

Generate and issue invoices and account statements

Perform sales ledger account reconciliations

General financial management and analysis

Month-end support including preparation of journals, including accruals and prepayments, ensuring that all accounting entries are supported and accurate

Analysis of legal and professional costs and other P&L lines as required

Process staff Barclaycard and cash expenses
Requirements, Qualities & Attributes

Familiar with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook

Effective interpersonal and communication skills

Confident with dealing with third-party debtors and across the business

Good attention to detail

Fast learner and comfortable to develop skills in new areas

Good negotiation skills
