Our clients business has been steadily growing and are interested in hiring a manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will need to be a confident communicator with experience managing and leading a team. You will have experience performing at a high level of efficiency, delivering a range of compliance and consultancy led work including ad hoc projects.
The accountancy manager will report directly to the partners and will need to demonstrate the ability to work both independently, and as part of a team, in a busy office environment. They offer a competitive salary, ongoing training, and the opportunity to progress.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Assisting with the reviewing and finalization of work from juniors and seniors – in regards to the preparation of financial statements, audit work and self-assessment returns.
Dealing with correspondence from HMRC and Companies house.
Management of Audits to include management and training of the audit team, attending clients premises and completion of the audit files ready for partner review.
Management of statutory registers and review of documentation required for filing at Companies House generated by junior staff members.
Apply relevant reporting standards, tax law and auditing standards whilst executing work within deadlines and to budget and communicating effectively.
Supporting and managing team members daily and assisting to resolve technical issues.
Skills and Qualifications:
5 Years’ experience, ideally, in a practice environment.
ACA/ACCA qualified with extensive experience gained within practice, exceptional qualified by experience candidates would be considered.
A general practice background with accounts, corporation tax and self-assessment experience is essential.
Experience in performing and managing financial audits.
Experience in dealing with multiple client portfolios ranging from an independent self-employed person to Larger limited companies.
Have experience of effectively supervising and developing junior team members.
Ability to work well both as part of a team and independently.
Ideally a background knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
Ideally experience using Iris accounting software, Sage Line 50 and QuickBooks online.
