Web Application Tester

Location

Hybrid with the occasional visit to the Bath office.

Role Purpose

This role is for a Web Application Tester operating in a hybrid capacity with the capability to commute to Bath two days a month (currently we are still 100% remote). You’ll be working shoulder to shoulder with our software developers in our Agile Scrum team, working to deliver on our sprint commitments, delivering high value, high quality change to our customers.

We routinely run educational workshops on agile, technology, and industry trends to help us further improve our individual and team agile journey

L&C is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and is classified as an Enhanced Firm under the Senior Manager’s and Certification Regime (SM&CR). This role is subject to the 5 FCA Conduct rules and you will be expected to adhere to them at all times. (See below). Any confirmed breaches of the Conduct Rules (defined by FCA parameters) will be reported to the FCA annually. Should you apply for a Certified role in another financial services firm then L&C will be required to disclose this information in a Regulatory Reference request.

Key Responsibilities:

* Own our automation testing suite across our 10 core applications

* Constantly drive improvement by maintaining existing tests and automating new component testing

* Maintain our CI/CD automation pipelines in DevOps

* Engage and be part of our Agile Scrum ceremonies

* Be part of the scrum 'development team', responsible for delivering our sprint commitments

* Provide coaching in test automation techniques and coding to our other testers

Key Skills and Experience

You’ll be able to:

* Demonstrate agile values or be willing to grow the following: courage, respect, focus, commitment and openness

* Show relevant experience of using the following tools and software; C#, Selenium, Visual Studio, JS, CSS, HTML, Microsoft DevOps (training provided)

* Demonstrate a desire to deliver quality change to customers

* Show you have good communication and interpersonal skills

* Demonstrate resourcefulness, problem solving, and good decision-making skills that will enable you to resolve issues quickly

* Show you have a personal drive to help other colleagues and embrace continuous improvement

* Identify risks, issues, and constraints

* Analyse and review improvement areas and assist with the process of implementing change using industry best practise
