Job Description
PMO Planning & Finance Analyst

Hybrid / West Midlands (1 day a week on site)

£45,000-£50,000 + bonus + very good benefits package

My client, one of the UK's leading financial services companies, who have won multiple awards for being an exceptional place to work and are looking for a an experienced and enthusiastic PMO who has a good financial background.

The role

As the PMO Planning & Finance Analyst you will be required to provide planning and finance insight expertise to change programmes and projects on behalf of the EPMO to support the efficient delivery of large Programmes and projects of all types so that you can strive for continuous improvement in planning and finance on any project you are involved in. You will be proactively acting as an advocate of the EPMO, providing planning and finance expertise and ensure ongoing maturity of planning and finance across programmes and projects.

Key responsibilities

Build and maintain plans for Projects and Programmes, including integrating those of external suppliers, ensuring that the wide portfolio of internal and external dependencies are covered to avoid unnecessary costs or delays and to support the wider delivery of the portfolio.
Proactively provide Projects and with specialist skills relating to finances. Develop, maintain and report on programme or project budgets.
Build and maintain business relationships across the Project and Programme stakeholders and Group Change team to ensure effective and successful embedding of Planning and Finance Standards.
Analyse and provide insight on Project and Programme plans and finances to highlight areas of risk and/or conflict. From this you will provide the project with relevant MI to mitigate the risk or conflict from which you will facilitate effective and timely decision making.
Maintain communication of project planning, finance tools and practices to all stakeholders including external suppliers. Promote, develop, provide guidance and consultancy on and ensure adherence to the companies planning and finance standards.
Conduct planning and finance reviews, health checks and other audits for providing guidance and gaining agreement for recommendations whilst ensuring adherence to the Change Framework is kept.
There will also be opportunities to Mentor other members on your team to help develop their knowledge within the business. Experience required

Having a PRINCE2 (or equivalent) qualification is essential (or willingness to work towards) and Evidence of Managing Successful Programmes desirable
Experience of significant transformation projects going through the entire project lifecycle
Candidates must be able to demonstrable knowledge of Project Management and Programme Management methodologies
Be able to expertly use project planning tools including MS Project and Excel
It is important that candidates have experience of building relationship with a diverse range of stakeholders including internal and externals suppliers
To be able to demonstrable commercial acumen, including invoicing, accruals, and financial estimates
