About Our Client
An exciting time to join a PE backed business looking at an exit within the next two years. The role will allow the incumbent to potentially elevate to CFO as well as being pivotal in supporting the board for this event.
Job Description
The Director of Finance will ensure that business units' financial performance is measured with robust reporting. It will be a key role in providing effective financial planning, detailed budgets/forecasts and consolidating financial process and controls.
* Production of corporate plans, budgets, management accounts and ad hoc financial reports for the business and to meet Group deadlines.
* Preparation and support presentations covering financial performance to internal Boards and external stakeholders.
* Production of 13-week cash flow forecasts on a weekly basis.
* Tight working capital and cash control.
* Monitor and identify strong and underperforming areas to continually drive enhanced financial performance and mitigate risks.
* Proactive commercial input to evaluate and help to develop alternative business propositions.
* Evaluate new business opportunities (including acquisitions) commercially and financially.
* Development of a strong and engaged finance team.
* Liaison with auditors and external statutory bodies where appropriate.
* Ensuring the Group adheres to internal controls and authorisation levels.
* Corporate planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting to tight deadlines
The Successful Applicant
You will be a qualified Accountant with a proven track record within a similar leadership finance role. Your background will ideally be within the manufacturing industry and specifically an SME environment where your role has been hands on and detail orientated.
You will have a collaborative and proactive outlook and be comfortable working with senior stakeholders delivering financial information with succinct and commercial delivery. You will have strong financial reporting skills and proven ability to deliver under tight deadlines and balance multiple objectives sometimes with incomplete information. Experience of continuous process improvement and identifying inefficiencies would be desirable as well as the ability to add value through interpretation of financial data.
Above all, you will be an experienced candidate that can demonstrate you are detail and deadline orientated with strong work and personal ethics and will be actively seeking a visible role in which to further your career to FD level. Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills are essential as is the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels. Experience of managing a finance team, development and mentoring would also be highly desirable.
