Job Description
Elevation Accountancy & Finance are pleased to be supporting a specialist thriving business based in Barnsley as they look to expand their busy finance function and recruit an ambitious and committed Assistant Accountant on a full time, permanent basis!

This is a varied role that will provide the successful applicant with exposure across all areas of purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control within a leading organisation!

Duties of the Assistant Accountant will include:

* Take ownership over the accounts payable duties
* Prepare invoices, through to payment runs, reconciliations & reporting
* Prepare and process month end accruals and analysis
* Prepare control reconciliations, investigate and resolve queries
* Manage daily invoice financing reporting and reconciliations
* Prepare customer rebate reports and controls, working with Sales Ledger
* Prepare VAT returns and other regulatory submissions
* Prepare information for tax management and reporting
* Assist with consolidated accounts and reports
* Assist with the audit and statutory accounts
* Hire Purchase account reconciliation & all associated Journal entries

Person Specification:

* Part qualified member of a professional accountancy body
* Minimum 2 years' experience in similar accounting role
* Use of Microsoft office products
* Good Financial and Management Accounts knowledge
* A passion to challenge and change to develop and evolve
* Attention to detail
